Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 September 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Vonzl — the desktop application, this website, and the account and billing services behind them — operated by Cromozo Innovations Limited ("Cromozo", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15668893), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. By creating an account, installing the app, or using the site, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, where you're signing up as part of a firm, on behalf of that firm.
Vonzl is a productivity tool for individuals, teams, and businesses — dictation, voice commands, AI-assisted drafting and summarising, and document question-answering grounded in your own files. It isn't a substitute for professional judgement: you're responsible for reviewing anything Vonzl helps produce before you rely on it or send it on.
2. Accounts and workspaces
An account belongs to one person, identified by their email address. Signing up (or being invited) links that account to a workspace — called a "firm" in parts of the app; it's the unit billing and seats are organised around, whether you're an individual, a team, or a company — with a role of admin or member. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account; tell us straight away at privacy@vonzl.com if you think it's been compromised.
You can sign in with a password or with Google. If you sign up with email, you'll need to verify it before you can log in — the verification link is time-limited.
3. Plans and subscriptions
Vonzl offers a Free plan (capped at 2,000 words of dictation and 10,000 AI generation tokens a week) and several paid tiers: Cloud plans (billed per seat, generation routed through our cloud AI provider) and Local Appliance plans (a flat fee, generation and speech processing run on hardware you operate yourself — see Section 4). Paid Cloud plans start with a trial period at checkout; a card is required to start one, and unless you cancel first it will convert to a paid subscription and be charged automatically once the trial ends.
Each plan includes weekly usage allowances — dictated words, AI generation tokens, and voice commands — measured over a rolling 7-day window, plus per-tier limits on scoped folders, Q&A documents, and custom templates. The current numbers for every tier are shown on the pricing page and in the app. If a busy week uses up an allowance, you can optionally buy a one-time Boost Pack from inside the app, which tops up your allowances for the following 7 days without changing your plan.
Subscriptions are billed and collected by Paddle.com Market Limited, acting as our authorised reseller and merchant of record — Paddle, not Cromozo, is the seller you're contracting with for the purchase itself, handles your payment details directly, and issues invoices/receipts. Paddle's own terms apply to the checkout and payment process. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your Account settings or by contacting us; cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current billing period unless required by law. Prices are shown in your local currency where available, based on the country on your profile, and your invoices are available from the Plan and Billing page in the app.
4. How your content is processed
What happens to the documents, dictated audio, and questions you put into Vonzl depends on your plan and the engine you choose in Settings:
- Document indexing for Q&A happens entirely on your own device — the files you point Vonzl at are read, embedded, and stored locally; we never receive or see the documents themselves.
- Generation (drafting, summarising, answering a question) sends your prompt and any retrieved document excerpts needed to answer it to whichever engine is active: our cloud AI provider (Cloud plans) or, for Local Appliance plans, hardware you operate on your own premises, which we never see or have access to.
- Dictation audio is transcribed on-device by default; Cloud-plan users can instead choose a cloud speech-to-text engine, in which case the audio is streamed to our cloud provider for that session only. Local Appliance plans transcribe on your own hardware.
- On-screen context — features like email-aware replies and content commands read the message or selected text you're currently looking at, locally, using the accessibility permission you grant the app. That captured text is only included in a generation request when you explicitly trigger one, and the app shows you what's about to be sent before it goes.
- Voice commands and macros are transcribed the same way as dictation and matched against your command list locally; the matched command then runs on your machine (opening apps, running your own macros). You're responsible for the macros you create and what they do.
- Read-aloud (text-to-speech) sends only the text you ask to hear to the speech engine for your plan — our cloud provider on Cloud plans, your own hardware on Local Appliance plans.
See our Privacy Policy for exactly which providers are involved in the cloud paths and where they're based.
5. The Local Appliance plan
If you run a Vonzl Gateway appliance on your own hardware, you're solely responsible for that hardware, its security, its network configuration, and any data that passes through it — Cromozo has no access to it and can't see what it processes. We provide the appliance software as-is; keeping it patched and secured is your responsibility.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use Vonzl to process content you don't have the right to process; attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or overload the service; share your account with people outside your firm's licensed seats; or use the service in a way that breaches your professional or regulatory obligations. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section.
7. Intellectual property
The Vonzl name, logo, and app belong to Cromozo Innovations Limited or its licensors. You keep all rights to the documents and content you bring into Vonzl, and to anything Vonzl generates for you. Nothing here grants you a licence to our trademarks or branding beyond using the app as intended.
8. No warranty
Vonzl, including anything an AI feature drafts, summarises, or answers, is provided "as is." AI-generated output can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading — you're responsible for checking it before relying on it, the same as any other draft. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cromozo Innovations Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of Vonzl, including loss arising from reliance on AI-generated content without review. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account or your firm's account at any time from the app — deletion has a short grace period during which you can cancel it, after which it's carried out. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what's deleted and what, if anything, we're required to keep. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of Section 6, or if a subscription payment fails and isn't resolved.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, unless mandatory local consumer-protection law says otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the product develops. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and — for material changes — ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in, as the app already does.
